dinner time yesterday, im plannign on making Hamburger Helper, so I choose 3 different kinds, and show them to aiden so he can pick out which one he wants.. He chooses the middle box, Cheeseburger Mac.. As im heading back to the kitchen aiden says:
I don't want that, I'm not hungry.... I want Muggets!
me: you want Muggets?
aiden: yes I want Muggets!
me: well you can have Muggets tomarrow, we are having this tonight.

So at the dinner table.. not eating "muggets", we are discussing teeth and chewing. I point out Isobelle has no teeth so she cannot have hamburger helper.
aiden: I have teeth, and you have teeth!
me: and daddy has teeth!
aiden: no daddy doesn't have teeth.
me: daddy doesn't have teeth?
aiden: no, daddy has big cheeks on his face! and Isobelle has big cheeks on her face! (points to Izzy)
me: Oh, I see.

apparently daddy has no teeth to chew hamburger helper, or muggets.. but he can eat them with his face.. lol

Cinco de .. mayo?

ok so i have been super slacking on poor aiden's blog! we have moved to KCMO to our new town home we are renting. Aiden loves all the little friends he has around the neighborhood, especially a little girl named Mackenzie who is 2 1/2. we are awaiting the arrival of our new family addition who should be here in 22 days or less! and i hoped i have explained to aiden somewhat enough he will understand. i thought i would add in some of the little things he has done lately to make me smile.
a week or so ago i sprained my wrist and had it in a half cast/wrap, aiden didn't see me come home from the hospital with it so when he saw me first thing in the morning he asked "mommy did you get hit by car?!" i said no and he stroked my face and said "its ok mommy, it will get better"
a couple nights ago aiden wasn't eating his dinner as per usual, and over emotional mommy started to cry, aiden asked for hugs and then said "its ok mommy, don't cry aiden's here."

this morning i was having a bit of braxtonhicks contractions, hip pain and pelvis pain.. and aiden woke me up by screaming at me that he was awake, "I'm awake, MOMMY I AM AWAKE!, I'm awake I'm awake......" to which i replied... then get out of the bloody bed then! realizing this was a bad idea to scream mommy awake, he turned on the charm.. "good morning mommy! its nice to see you", followed by hugs.. "i love you mommy" me : im sorry for yelling, mommy just hurts a little today" "where does it hurt mommy, i will kiss it better!" .. "my belly" i tell him. so he plants a huge kiss on my belly.. "there its all better now"
i think we have a running theme of aiden trying to comfort me better for the last few weeks, poor little guy. i feel bad for him, but he is a very sweet, kind and caring little man.. he makes me so proud!
thought i would also add.. a little bit ago, aiden comes up to me and puts a panda sticker on my belly, and then informed me "killing people is bad", whilst he plays with his magnetic letters on the fridge.. things that make you go hmmmmm.

i haven't updated Aiden's blog pretty much since we hopped the pond, so i thought i would try to add a couple things that my scrambled brain can actually remember.
last weekend i wasn't feeling very well, Aiden had caught a cold about 2 weeks ago and graciously shared with us all.. shared so much his doctor thought he might of had mono, but everyone is pretty much better now except for me.
so me and Aiden are sitting in the downstairs watching TV, and he says to me, "c'mon mommy lets go lay down and i will make you feel better"
we go into the bedroom and he has me lay on my side, then he proceeds to give me a rub down/massage with a "krabby patty" , it is in actuality the top and bottom half of a plastic bun for his kitchen set..
regardless it was very sweet.
then on Sunday, i had robin get him up as i still had the plague, and while robin was upstairs making his oatmeal, Aiden runs into my room, with his boiler suit footed pajama's on..and his stethoscope :) he climbs up into bed.. has me breathe while he listens to my belly, makes me say "achoo".. then says "Hmmmm" climbs down off the bed and then turns to me at the door and says "you wait right here, i will be right back with something to make you feel better!" i think he was side tracked by breakfast because i didn't see him anymore for a little bit. it is still lovely of him to be so attentive and kind.

now today was sunny and semi-warm so we were outside a bit, playing with his F-150 taking a walk and him riding his trike. he was on his tricycle which he had coasted down the hill of the drive and couldn't pedal it up the rest of the drive because it is too steep and turns to me "mommy I'm going to Walmart!" he trie's and trie's to get up the hill on the gravel but no cigar.. "Mommy, I want to take this push bike to Walmart!"
good man.. he likes to shop!

Also while eating dinner the other night.. he leans back in his chair, rubs his belly and says.. "mmm the baby likes it!" we keep trying to explain, only mommy's can have babies in the belly :)

Halloween 2009

dressed as a fireman aiden went trick or treating for the first time yesterday, it was a very joyful experience. as we were walking out the door, he said, "we cant go, its dark outside!" trying to understand why he was getting to go outside when it was dark, the first few houses we knocked at aiden actually tried to go in their houses, which was adorable, they opened the door, he said trick or treat and started to walk on in their house.
he was quite unsure about what we were doing, we knock, they give me candy... after about the 4th house aiden was really in the spirit,, like it sunk in, "oh i knock, they give me sweets!" and he was ready to go!
"lets go to the next house!" he would say. i explained houses that were dark with no lights on, meant no one was home. and pretty soon he was pointing out the houses on the street that had lights on.. "the light is on there!" every one loved his costume and commented on it. people would get down on their knee's to get to his level to offer him the bowl of candy to choose from, and then he would kneel too, it was too cute.. everyone was , Oh you don't need to get down too sweety.. but he would just kneel on the front steps and pick out his candy, quite a few people gave him more than one piece, and some people just had open bowls of gummy sweets and would offer them to him, and he would grab one put it in his mouth then go for another one, he was really enjoying himself.. after about 45 mins in, he could barely contain himself and wanted to run to each house, he decided he would knock as well, using his tiny fist or even banging his candy bucket on the door..
he was afraid of the children with scary monster masks or skeleton masks, i had to explain it was just pretend and they were costumes, i even had one little boy lift his mask to show aiden he was just a boy and not scary at all... another boy's mother made him show aiden his face because he tripped over a plant pot walking backwards trying to get away from him. but he got the picture and would say, "its ok, its just pretend, they're just costumes"
we went to one house where you had to go around the back through this "spooky" side passage, and there was a big group of kids behind us who were very noisy.. and aiden said "i don't like this" and then about 2 houses down, he said he wanted to go back to the spooky house :)
all in all it was a great night, we went out for about 1 1/2 hours and aiden's bucket was so heavy by the end i was carrying it, his fire hose and the flashlight.
