Aiden: I'm poor.
(this is as he is tucking into a breakfast of french toast, banana's and juice)
me: you are not poor.
Aiden: yes I am, I'm poor because I can't go to school.
(it takes me a while after this to realise he is saying this because we can't afford to send him to the private school we sent him to last year)
me: poor means you don't have any money.
Aiden. no it doesn't
( i get the ipad and look it up on the dictionary app and show him)
